The Book of Acts (2 Credit Hours)

In his commentary on Acts, at Acts 1:1, F. F. Bruce writes, “… in Luke and Acts we are dealing, not with two works, but with two parts of one work.” Indeed, a comparison of Luke 1:1-4, 24:46-49 with Acts 1 and 2 supports this. The course takes up where the book of Luke left off. Time permitting, you will study the authorship of the book of Acts, its date of writing, the dates covered in the book, and the history of the church established in Acts 2 and its continuance to Acts 28 where Paul is in Rome.

Instructor: Dustin Forthun

New Testament Church (2 Credit Hours)

The body of Jesus Christ, the sphere of saved people, was in the mind of God from eternity, Paul teaches (Eph 3:10-11). Like a golden thread, weaving through the Bible, its Head, Jesus Christ, is there. The solution to the sin problem is being worked out, salvation in Him is available. This course addresses what the church of Christ is, traces predictions and fulfillment of it, discusses its organization and other related teachings from the Bible.
